It lost the 2004 polls since the number of its allies had dwindled to six. This time again, Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress has deserted NDA for the Congress in West Bengal, further squeezing the saffron-led alliance. Yet, Ravi Shankar Prasad puts up a brave face, “We have just been joined by INLD in Haryana and AGP in Assam. Few more may join us soon.”
With Indian Premier League hosting T20 between April 10 and May 18, almost coinciding with the LS poll itinerary, BJP would need more than just multi-taskers to make people abandon cricket and come out to vote. Its only solace is: the Congress, too is grappling with similar problems.
